Singles’ day is China’s biggest online shopping day and this year it saw shoppers spending over $17.4 million dollars in just 24 hours. According to VP Hugo Barra, Xiaomi did very well this year too, especially with their budget phone Redmi 4A.
As per the statements of Hugo Barra, Xiaomi saw over CNY 1.2 billion in sales. And the Redmi 4A claimed the top position in the list of best selling smartphone on Singles’ day by selling around a million units within the 24 hours.

One of the reason the Redmi 4A has been such a hit is due to its pricing. For a smartphone with such great features it is priced at only $74.
In spite of the pricing, the Redmi 4A does not look like a budget phone in any way. It has a metal body with a matte finish. The phone weighs only 135.50 grams and has a 5’’ 720p IPS LCD display. It comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory which can be expanded via SD card upto 128GB. It is powered by the Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz with Adreno 308 GPU. It has a dual sim card slots that supports 4G LTE network and runs on android v6.0 marshmallow with MIUI8 skin.
It seems that we won’t have to wait very long for this device. According to our reliable sources, Mi Nepal is already working on to launch Redmi 4A in Nepal in the near future. If Mi Nepal comes with an aggressive pricing for the Redmi 4A, it will definitely do very well in the Nepali market, especially considering that the budget phones tend to do well in a country like ours.
