BlackBerry phones which once was very much popular for its profound quality phones are now trying to get a comeback in the android battle where it was somewhere lost in the beginning. BlackBerry previously also had launched some Android smartphones called “BlackBerry Priv” “DTEK 50” and “DTEK 60”. But now with the traditional BlackBerry theme, this year company is planning to launch a new model which is presumably called “BlackBerry Mercury” a.k.a DTEK 70.
BlackBerry mercury was available at the CES 2017 in LAS VEGAS. This new model with the hardware partner “TCL” is trying to sum up the blended theme of Blackberry in an android style. Yes, this might be a little confusing as it is confirmed that BlackBerry this time is planning to launch a new model that consists of navigable Qwerty keyboard.
Blackberry didn’t disclose all the facts about this model at CES 2017 so there we have already seen the rumors and leaks about the specs of this model. However, the official release of its hardware specification will be done at Mobile World Congress on February 25, 2017.
Well this small QWERTY pad was practiced in “Blackberry Passport” which was not in the android category, but now this time at the CES 2017 demonstration it was powered by Android 7.0 as it’s OS, with Snapdragon processor and was Quad-core.
The display size for this according to CES-2017 is to be of 4.5” being it a touch screen with Full HD resolution.
Although it’s a touch screen it is featured with a QWERTY keyboard at the bottom were even surfing the keyboard can change the screen or can surf the screen. And another unique feature that this model is expected to carry is the embedded fingerprint sensor on the QWERTY keypad. And the fingerprint sensor is embedded in the space button of the keypad. This is a unique concept that blackberry is trying to put through the mass is rumored to be launched in the first half of this year.
Well talking about its camera, it is expected to be of 18MP rear camera with 4K video recording option. Whereas, the front camera might be of 8MP with all the PDAF, face detection facilities incorporated in it. This new model from Blackberry is rumored to have a 3GB of RAM and the storage of 32GB which can be expandable up to 256 GB. Well, we can find out about this feature on Mobile World Congress 2017.
In the Daily Express magazine of London, it was published about this model to have 3.5mm jack with USB-type C port in it.
