Cool1 Dual Review : An Era Of Dual Camera

Few days back we released an article where we confirmed with a coolpad official representatives to Nepal. Regarding the launching of the coolpad smartphones in Nepal. And we think this is the right moment for us to explore about coolpad smartphones. So today we are going to share our experience with Cool1 Dual, which is very first smartphone from coolpad after the collaboration with LeEco.

Design & Build Quality:

Cool1 Dual spot a metal unibody design. It comes with chamfered edges which makes it look premium in hand. Above the display, we have notification LED sensor and 8MP front facing camera. Below the display we have three capacitive buttons which are backlit.

On the back we have Dual camera and fingerprint sensor along with secondary noise cancellation mic. On top we have 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster which helps to control your TV, AC etc. ..on the bottom we have USB type C port that support fast charging and on the right we have loud speaker and on the left we have main mic.

We have 5.5” IPS LCD screen with the resolution of 1080×1920 pixels that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Which makes the total pixel density of 401 ppi, so the text on the screen looks sharp and color reproduction is quite good but the viewing angle and contrast ratio could be better. The brightness level is quite good enough to use the device even in the direct sunlight.

Performance:

The unit we have got came with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 Octa-core CPU and Adreno 510 GPU along with 4GB RAM. Snapdragon 652 is one of the best mid-range processor from Qualcomm. Over the week of experience with this unit, I personally, never felt any lag on this device when it comes to navigating through home screen, setting menu, opening apps or even playing games with high graphic settings and if you worrying about overheating issue, we are happy to tell you there is no overheating issues even playing high-end games.

Camera:

Cool1 Dual comes with 13MP Dual cameras, one is monochrome sensor and other RGB sensor. So theoretically what this mean is, we can get some amazing low light pictures with the combination of both the sensors. Besides this we can also take true black and white images from its 13MP monochrome sensor. And with the help of SLR mode we can capture some images with cool bokay effect.

Talking about the image quality taken with Dual Rear Camera setup, it was outstanding. Never thought that we can get such great images from a Mid-range smartphone. If Coolpad Nepal launches this device in Nepal, Cool1 Dual will be on our top list of best camera on Mid-range smartphones.

Talking about battery life it comes with 4060mAh battery, which is capable enough to last almost a day in a heavy usage. Even if you run out of your battery, quick charge helps you to get 50% battery in just 30min. Other features like IR blaster and Fingerprint sensor also works pretty well.

To sum it up, We are very happy with Cool1 Dual overall. It comes with one of the most powerful CPU and GPU in a mid-range smartphone, great camera, excellent battery life and a top notch build quality. But just like other smartphone, Cool1 Dual is not a perfect device. For example, it does not come with Memory card expansion options, the LeEco software UI might not please everyone’s eyes, physical keys are mushy and display is surrounded by larger black borders.

We hope once Coolpad Nepal launches Cool1 Dual in Nepal, it will have a decent price tag. Let us know what you think about Cool1 Dual on the comment section below.
