Poco started the buzz around 18 months ago when it came up with its first-ever device the Poco F1. The device had an impressive price to perform the ratio. Its base variant started around 21,000 Indian Rupees. Poco did the same as OnePlus. As earlier Oneplus was known for High-performance devices at the minimum price possible with cuts at various features sets.
In 2019, people were hyped to see the next offering from Poco. Poco didn’t launch a single product in 2019. In the second week of February 2020, Poco came up with Poco X2, a premium mid-range device with snapdragon 730G and a 120Hz display. The device is doing well in this price segment but it was not the device people were waiting for. After all, it was the rebranded version of China only Redmi K30.
Poco F2 Pro
After watching for more than 18 months and a lot of teasers, Poco is finally coming up with its new flagship device POCO F2 PRO. The device is set to have a global online launch event on the 12th of May.
Here are the few things you need to know about the device before it’s launch and why this device is not going to be as aggressive as Poco F1 in the price department.
Leaks about the upcoming Poco device are floating all over the internet. Even if we look at the leaked images we can clearly see that the upcoming Poco F2 Pro is the same as the Redmi K30 pro which was launched a few months ago in China. This is killing the hype among the people. Poco F1 at the time of its launch was like no other device, though it had a plastic body and huge notch it had its own set of features which made it stand out among the crowd.
Poco F1 came with IR face Unlock which is still unseen at that price bracket. Even its camera was at Second position in MKBHD blind camera comparison.
Talking about the expected specs of Poco F2 Pro as it is the rebranded Redmi K30 pro. The device is going to pack the latest internals and full bezel-less screen with pop up selfie camera.
The device will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC based on a 7nm manufacturing process where GPU is handled by Adreno 650.

According to the sources, we have leaked European pricing for Poco F2 Pro which is around €649 for the base variant and €749 for the higher variant. Taking the Poco F1 pricing in India for the highest variant was around $425, which makes it around 30% more expensive than its previous generation.
As per our thoughts, Pricing in the Indian market is not going to be the same. To keep the price competitive, The Poco F2 Pro might not come with 5G connectivity for the Indian market. Or they might launch two devices, one with 5G and the other with 4G. IQOO, the sub-brand of vivo, did somewhat similar in the past. IQOO launched the cheapest Snapdragon 865 smartphone with a price tag of ₹34,990 (~NRP 55,984) with 4G while the same device with 5G modem is sold at ₹44,990 (~NRP 71,984).
So, If Poco wants to compete in the Flagship killer market of India with its new device, the device should be launched at competitive pricing to give a tough Competition to IQOO and Realme devices.
So we should not expect the Indian pricing to be as similar to the European market. Companies do take the Indian market seriously and price their products accordingly.
The company is launching the pro variant of the device earlier than the regular variant. The Poco F2 is spotted by the leaker in many certification sites which suggests that the device might launch soon. Till now we don’t have any confirmation when. Poco F2 might also be an India only device. Poco F2 might also be a flagship from the company which will be priced a little less than the pro variant and might cut some corners here and there.
According to the latest leaks, a new Poco device was listed with NFC certification, which is guessed to be Poco F2.
Earlier also we heard from C Manhonan (Poco India Head): The company is still working on Poco F2 and it won’t be the rebranded version of the Redmi K30pro. So we might see a new device out of the blue. We hope it won’t be redux of any old device.
