Gionee Announced A Bunch of 18:9 Aspect Ratio Display Smartphones
In one of the event held by Gionee in China, Gionee launched couple of its devices. In the event, Gionee had six of its devices lined up. The lined-up devices were Gionee S11, S11s, and M7 Plus — all of which are flagship devices and Gionee F6, F205, and Steel 3 — mid-ranged category devices. Gionee S11 and S11s are successors to Gionee S10 series and brings couple of updates to the device. Lets talk about these devices in detail.
Both of these devices have glass body with reflective finish. The glass is 3D and is curved on all sides giving it similar appearance to that of Mi 6. Both of these devices are powerful as they are flagship devices.
The Gionee S11s is superior compared to S11 and has 6.01-inch AMOLED display with Full HD display resolution. Powered by MediaTek Helio P30 processor, it has 6GB of RAM on board and storage capacity of 64GB. This device also features a quad camera setup with dual front camera of 20MP+8MP and rear camera 16 MP sensor coupled with 8 MP. It has rear fingerprint scanner and NFC support for mobile payment. The device is backed up by 3,600mAh and also supports 18W fast charging.
Gionee S11 is slightly smaller than its counterpart with 5.99-inch display with same FHD resolution and aspect ratio. Under the hood, it has Helio P23 processor instead of the Helio P30. It also has smaller RAM of 4 GB and same storage space of 64GB. Like S11s, the Gionee S11 sports a quad camera but with a slightly different configuration. Talking about the front camera, it has 16 megapixel sensor coupled with 8 megapixel and on the back, it has 16 megapixel sensor coupled with 5 megapixel. Powering the device is a 3410mAh battery.
The S11 and S11s both runs on Android Nougat out of the box and new Amigo OS 5.0 on top. Also, the Amigo OS 6.0 comes with a bunch of new features. The pricing of the device is kept at $499 (`~NPR 51,544) for Gionee S11s and $273 (~NPR 28,199) for Gionee S11.
This device is similar to the S11 and S11s with its reflective glass design and 3D four curved glass. It features a 5.7 inch display with a resolution of 1440x 720 pixels. Under the hood of this device is a Snapdragon 430 processor and 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB storage that is expandable to 128 GB via microSD card. As for camera, it has dual camera setup for rear with 13MP+2MP coupling and single 8 MP sensor for front shooters. The rear camera also supports 3D photo features. Like other devices, it also has a fingerprint sensors on its back. Additionally, the device is backed up by a 2970mAh battery. Furthermore, it runs on Android 7.1 Nougat. This device is priced for $197 (~NPR 20,349) and is available in Star Blue, Black and Gold color.
The Gionee F205 is another budget device with a 5.45-inch display having a resolution of 1440x 720 pixels. Unlike other device, it doesn’t have glass design but all metal body design. Being on a budget sector, it features 2GB of RAM and 16 GB memory space. Additionally, the device is powered by MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor which is juiced on 2670mAh battery. It has a 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter for selfies. This device is priced at $151 (~NPR 15,597) and comes in red and gold.
Gionee Steel 3
The Gionee Steel 3 also has an all-metal design with a two texture design i.e. different texture in middle and outer part. The Steel 3 features a 5.5 inch HD+ display which is powered by Snapdragon 425 processor. In addition, it has a 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB display which is expandable to 256 GB. For camera, it has 8 megapixel sensors on both sides. This device is backed up by 4000mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat. It is priced at $212 (~NPR 21,917) and comes in Gold color.
The launched devices looks pretty sweet compared to the features and pricing. Both Gionee S11 and S11s have great specs with the quad camera setup. The budget devices – Gionee F6, Steel 4 and F205 packs a decent features as well. However, I feel that the Gionee F6 and Steel 3 has its edge over the Gionee F205.
