HMD Global launches Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3310 (2017) in MWC 2017

The year 2017 is a very good start for Nokia because the company is planning to launch a series of its phones to the world. HMD Global has already announced some of its new phones but the comeback from Nokia won’t stop anytime soon. In the MWC 2017, Nokia has announced a couple of mobile devices under its brand name. MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017 has already been commenced and will take place in Barcelona from 27 February to 2 March. Rajendra Dulal, our blog member from Gadgets In Nepal was also present to account the event for us.

In the event, Nokia has already announced Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. Along with the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5, HMD Global also announced the availability of Nokia 6 for sale in global market. Along with these smart phones the new color version of Nokia 3310 was also launched in the same event. The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 have been priced at EUR 139 and EUR 189 respectively. The company also announced the Nokia 6 Arte Black variant with piano black colour available at EUR 299

Nokia 3 features a 5 inch HD IPS display with resolution of 720x1280p. It is powered by Quad-core Mediatek MT6737 processor with 1.3GHz and 2GB of RAM. Along with this, the phone features 16GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and will be getting regular updates as specified by the company. On the top, the phone packs Coring Gorilla Glass which gives screen protection to the device

Talking about the Camera of Nokia 3, it sports 8MP front and rear camera. Both the rear and front camera will have Autofocus. There is a 2650mAh battery on the back of the phone. It will be available in Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue, and Copper White color variants.

Nokia 5 is a 5.2 inch IPS LCD display phone with 720x1280p resolution. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with 2GB of RAM. Talking about  the storage, it also features 16GB of internal storage. Similar to the Nokia 3, it is expandable up to 128GB. The display of the phone comes with 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top for display security and a nice finish.

Nokia 5 features 13MP rear camera with features such as PDAF and dual tone flash. On the front, it packs an 8MP camera with Autofocus. The front camera of the device is capable of taking wide angle shots with its wide degree view lens. The phone is backed up by a 3000mAh battery slightly larger than the Nokia 3. Nokia 5 will also be available in Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue, and Copper White color variants.

The Nokia 3310 (2017) is the reboot of the Nokia’s best selling phone of all time the original Nokia 3310. The device features a outstanding standby time of up to a month. The company have removed its pin charger with regular Micro-USB port. It supports 2G Internet connection and Bluetooth 3.0. The device has 2.4 inch QVGA colour display with resolution of 240×320. It runs on Nokia Series 30+OS with 16 MB storage which is expandable upto 32 GB via micro-SD card. The Nokia 3310 (2017) packs 1200mAh battery offering 22 hour of talk time and a month long standby time.

The Nokia 3310 (2017) is available in Warm Red and Yellow with a gloss finish and Dark Blue and Grey colour with matte finish. HMD Global is also bringing the classic Snake game loved by all and confirmed that it will be available for Facebook Messenger users as well.

Both Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 packs a decent specs at a budget range. These phones has great potentials in challenging other companies. Nokia is having a good start this year. The launch of these smartphones  means that Nokia is really taking up the run for competition on the Android market. These phones from Nokia is expected to launch in Nepal soon.
