In a rush of our day to day hectic life, we often forget to take care of small but important aspects of our life. From cleaning our smartphones to protecting it from some unintentional drops, slips, splash or bangs, we frequently ignore how important it is to keep our device safe.
We are the hard-working generation and live a very hectic life, while this does explain how busy we get to take care of such aspects frequently. But, the more busy and hasty life we live, the more it is important to take care of our gadgets because let’s not deny the fact how much we depend on our smartphones for our day-to-day activity.
Corning Gorilla Glass Protection:
Now, the good news is that most of the smartphones these days come with Corning Gorilla Glass in terms of screen-protection and P2i Coating/IP rating that protects our phones from most of the mishaps that might happen unintentionally. These kinds of features prevent us from worrying about the most precious belonging and live a carefree life.
Gorilla Glass is a brand of chemically strengthened glass developed and manufactured by Corning, now in its sixth generation, designed to be thin, light and damage-resistant. Corning Gorilla Glass which is also known as an alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass is used primarily as a cover glass for portable electronic devices, including mobile phones, portable media players, portable computer displays, and television screens to protect it.
This means that Gorilla glass is a strong resistant to damage and protects your phone in any unfortunate situation. The glass is lightweight, strong and compatible with touch screen technologies. Consequently of its strength, screens made of Gorilla Glass are generally very thin.
Now, most of the latest flagship smartphones come with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection but that does not mean you have to pay a buck load of money to get Gorilla Glass protection. These days, Corning Gorilla Glass can be found on budget smartphones too. Like for example, Redmi 8A, Redmi 8A dual and Redmi 8 come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. And all these smartphones are available in Nepal under Rs.15000.
P2i Nano coating and IP rating on Smartphones:
Not just Screen-protection but also in terms of splash and water resistance, we have P2i nano-coating and an IP (Ingress Protection) rating, which protects our smartphones from the wet-dead situation. P2i is a nanotechnology development company that manufactures’ liquid repellent nano-coating protection for smartphones. This coating is only splashed or sprinkle proof.
While only some of the smartphone companies offer this feature, it is most common in the budget phone segment. The smartphones that come with P2i nano-coating in Nepal are: Redmi 8A Dual, Redmi 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Realme 5i, Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro
In terms of good water-resistance, smartphones also come with an IP rating; it protects the phone from any possible damage that is caused by water and dust or that’s what we believe so far. But, in terms of this feature, the IP rating comes in only flagship devices. I guess a better feature comes with bigger price money, but this also falls under one of the reasons we prefer flagship over mid-range devices.
So, with that being said, we can see how important it is to choose a phone that has virulent features that offer protection in most common scenarios so that we don’t have to worry about our gadgets all the time. So, next time you are buying a smartphone you’d better recheck the protection they are offering for better security.
