In a dedicated launch event in Germany, Huawei announced its brand new flagship- the Huawei Mate 9. The new Mate 9 is a significant improvement in almost every aspect compared to previous phones launched by the company.
One of the things Huawei has chosen not to change is its display. It has a huge 5.9’’ screen with the same old IPS LCD display at Full HD resolution and is covered with 2.5D glass. It is powered by Hisilicon Kirin 960 SoC with Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. Since Huawei itself manufactured the new SoC, it is better optimized for the Mate 9. This will most likely result in fluid performance like we see on Apple’s iPhones or so the company claims. According to Huawei, a machine learning system has been implemented to analyze user’s app usage that allows the processors to be used efficiently.
Mate 9 offers improved camera performance with Leica branded dual camera (20 MP+ 12 MP) with Optical Image Stabilization(OIS). The camera is capable of taking 4K videos. There is also a dual tone dual LED flash included. It has a 4000mAh battery with ‘Super Charge’. The phone is supposed to provide 3.5 hours of playback with only 10 minutes of charging.
The phone will be available in Black, Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown and Ceramic White. Huawei Mate 9 will cost €699 ($776) and will be available in number of Asian and European countries. So sooner or later, we can expect Huawei Mate 9 in Nepal as well 🙂
Story does not end yet. There was one big surprise from Huawei. At the event Huawei has announced another flagship device, HuaweiPORSCHE DESIGN Mate 9. Limited edition of PORSCHE DESIGN Mate 9 comes with 5.5inch curved AMOLED display with QHD resolution. It comes with same Kirin 960 soc but has 6GB of RAM and 256GB non-expandable internal storage. On the back it has same Dual Camera (20MP + 12MP) that can record video up to 4k resolution. Powering it up is 4000mAh non-removable battery that comes with Huawei’s “SuperCharge” Technology, which, according to Huawei is fast enough charge Mate 9 to get a full day’s use in just 20 minutes.
Huawei PORSCHE DESIGN Mate 9 will be available only in black color and will cost €1,395 ($1,549). Now talking about the availability of this product, it will be available from January 2017 at Porsche Design Store worldwide and some select Huawei stores in Europe, Asia and middle east. So there is very little chances of getting this expensive device in Nepal.
