Design:

Taking a look at the design, both the devices feature a plastic body but the Huawei Y6s uses a two-tone display whereas Redmi 8 flaunts a reflective back design. On the other hand, the Huawei Y6s is more compact of the two devices with a smaller screen, slimmer design and a tad lighter weight. However, while the Redmi 8 comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection along with a splashproof body, there is no mention of any protection for the Huawei Y6s.

Display:

Both devices feature comparable displays. The Redmi 8 features a 6.22 inch 1560 x 720 pixels,19:9 ratio, 270 PPI density screen with 400nits peak brightness. Compared to this, the Huawei Y6s is equipped with 6.09 inch 1560 x 720 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio, and 282 PPI density display. We can see that the Y6s features a slightly sharper display but the Redmi 8 provides a larger and brighter screen.

Camera:

Speaking of the camera, the Redmi 8 takes a lead here. This device features a dual-camera setup with 12MP, f/1.8 + 2MP depth sensor for the main camera. Compared to this, Huawei Y6s features a single 13 MP, f/1.8 sensor in the rear. The front camera of both these devices is similar, with both devices featuring an 8 MP, f/2.0 for your selfies. So, on paper, the Redmi 8 packs better main camera setup.

Specification wise, the Huawei Y6s packs Mediatek Helio P35, CPU: Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) coupled with 3GM RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, running on a 3020 mAh battery. On the other hand, the Redmi 8 features Qualcomm Snapdragon 439, CPU: Octa-core(4×1.95 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.45 GHz Cortex A53), 4GB RAM and 64 GB memory and packs a massive 5000 mAH battery. Speaking of the software, both devices run on Android 9.0 with a custom skin on top of it. So, on paper, the Huawei Y6s has a slightly more powerful CPU but the Redmi 8 beats it hands down when we look at the battery life.

Price:

Both the devices are priced similarly, with Redmi 8 available at 14,999/- and the Huawei Y6s at 14,990/-. So, the choice of the device all comes down to the features that they offer and your liking.
