Obi Worldphone finally launched In Nepal by Jyoti Group

Obi Worldphone is a Silicon Valley-based Smartphone Company, founded by former Apple and PepsiCo CEO, John Sculley. He founded this company to provide high-end design and build a quality smartphone at affordable price tags without compromising much in performance. And finally, Starck Tech, a subsidiary company of Jyoti Group and the authorized distributor of Obi Worldphone for Nepal has launched Obi SF1 and Obi SJ1.5 in Nepal today at the launch event.

At the launch event, many media personal including Miss Samriddhi Rai (Singer) were present. Mr. Saurabh Jyoti, Chairman of Starck Tech company shared the vision of Jyoti Group with Obi Worldphone in the Nepali mobile market whereas Mr. Ankush Chatterjee, the vice president of product marketing & innovation of Obi Worldphone did a brief introduction of Obi SF1 and Obi SJ1.5.

Obi SF1:

Obi SF1 is the top of the line smartphone of Obi Worldphone which comes with 5inch Full HD IPS floating glass display, metal frame body, Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Octa-core CPU, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB ROM, MicroSD card support, Android v5.0.2 Lollipop, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, 4G LTE network support, Dual-SIM(Hybrid) and 3000mAh non-removable battery. Obi SF1 is priced at Rs.21,499 for 16GB variant and Rs.26,199 for 32GB variant.

Obi SJ1.5:

Obi SJ1.5 is an entry-level smartphone which comes with some unique designed made with polycarbonate material and features 5 inch HD IPS display, MediaTek Quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM, MicroSD card support, Android v5.1 Lollipop, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, 3G support, Dual-SIM, and 3000mAh battery. Obi SJ1.5 is priced at Rs.14,799 in Nepal.

With the launch of Obi Worldphone and rumors going around about Oppo and Meizu coming to Nepal near in the future, it’s great news for Nepali consumers. As more and more mobile companies enter Nepal, there will be more competitions and with high competition, prices of smartphones will be much more affordable. And as a result, we have already seen some mobile companies like Huawei and Samsung, reducing their smartphone price to compete with other smartphone companies in the Nepali market.
