While Nepal has just witnessed the launch of the Mid ranger OnePlus X phone, the world is anticipating the flagship killer OnePlus 3. There are multiple leaks and rumors about the upcoming OnePlus phone that will be released within a month. Here is the roundup of the leaks and rumors so far.
Most probably, the phone will do away with their previous texture back design and is known to have a metal uni-body design. Is evleaks to be believed, the phone will come with AMOLED screen and a 3000mAh battery. The photo (shown above) that was revealed in his twitter, shows antenna line on top & bottom and somewhat protruded rear camera (with dual-tone LED flash below) in the middle of the phone.
The rumor has it that the 5.5 display will still be Full HD but the processor is all bumped up with the latest Snapdragon 820 processor (currently available with Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, Xiaomi Mi5 phones). Another alleged picture of the phone has also been available with a front home button having a fingerprint sensor.
If it is to kill the current flagships, it should include USB type C, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) camera and affordable price (most probably under 350 $) which is believed to be included as per the leaks. Rear and front snapper are speculated to be 16 MP, 4K Support and 8 MP respectively. In the RAM and storage story, there could be two variants of the phone: 4GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, and 6 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM.
The fast charging from the USB type C port is likely to be the same as Oppo‘s VOOC (Voltage Open Loop Multi-step Constant-Current Charging) technology whereas the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and stereo front-facing speakers (similar to HTC) can be included. The phone is also expected to run on Android 6 Marshmallow with Oxygen skin over the top.
The phone will support all the technologies in GSM family along with major LTE bands in North America and it can also be expected to have different Global variants for different LTE frequencies including Band 3. I could not find any “convincing” rumors regarding the availability of an external slot for memory cards.
If the looks, specs, price and the “Never settle” tag line comes true for the latest phone, the current lag of Oneplus with the other Chinese smartphone makers like Xiaomi, Meizu, LeEco will be overcome. It is quite obvious that OnePlus will continue with the invitation-only sellout that is to be available till the end of this quarter (i.e. the end of the month Jun).
