For few past weeks OnePlus 5 has been seen on many teasers, render images and leaks. However, the wait for the device is almost over as it’s going to be unveiled tomorrow. Similarly, the device is set to launch in India on the 22nd of June and will go on sale in Amazon exclusively.
As of now, it’s sure that the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and features Adreno 540 GPU. OnePlus 5 is said to be sporting 5.5″ inch Optic AMOLED display with the resolution of (1080 x 1920) pixels. The rear camera in OnePlus 5 will have dual setup but no official statement has been released on the specs, so we expect it to be 16MP + 20MP “Telephoto” setup at the rear and an 8MP camera at the front.
There will be two variants of OnePlus 5 one with 6GB RAM / 64GB ROM and another with 8GB RAM / 128GB ROM. The fingerprint sensor in OnePlus 5 is mounted at the front and the battery is rumored to be 4000mAh non-removable battery, which will have dash-charge fast charging technology. Connectivity includes the latest Bluetooth v5.o, USB-C v3.1 reversible connector, NFC, Dual-Sim, etc. It will run on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with Oxygen OS skin on top.
By the design, OnePlus 5 looks similar to iPhone 7 Plus thus being called a clone of iPhone 7 Plus. The main rival of OnePlus 5 would be the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, Mi 6, HTC U11 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium with more devices following this year such as Essential PH-1 and Google pixel 2.
