OnePlus has officially confirmed that they are going to launch OnePlus 5 on June 20 in the US and Europe. Whereas in India, OnePlus 5 will be launching on June 22. And on the same day will go on sale on Amazon India exclusively. But today on the Amazon India website, where they have OnePlus 5 teaser landing page, Evan Blass found something interesting.
He went to the source code of that teaser landing page and found a description where it was written:
“OnePlus 5 powered by 2.35GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor and 8GB of RAM will release on 22 June 2017 as an exclusive at Amazon.in.”
This gives us a hint that OnePlus 5 might have 8GB RAM indeed. OnePlus launched their flagship killer smartphone with 6GB RAM when other company’s flagship used to have 4GB RAM. And now since we are seeing 6GB RAM commonly on many smartphones why not 8GB RAM on OnePlus 5, right?
Also recently leaked press render image of OnePlus 5 gives as a clear visual how OnePlus 5 is going to look like. OnePlus 5 will have dual camera setup horizontally, most probably with optical zoom lens. On the OnePlus 5 teaser landing page, there is a tagline “Focus on what matters”. This tagline might be pointing out the feature of the dual camera where we can refocus the object or make the background blur on the images. OnePlus has also worked with DXoMark to make OnePlus 5 camera even more superior.
OnePlus CEO has also confirmed that OnePlus 5 will be smaller and thinner compared to OnePlus 3T. There is no news yet when OnePlus 5 is going to launch here in Nepal but hopefully OnePlus Nepal will launch it within a month after OnePlus announce OnePlus 5. OnePlus Nepal is currently selling OnePlus X, OnePlus 2, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T along with other OnePlus accessories in Nepal.
