Oppo F7 Youth Vs Redmi Note 5 AI: Specs Comparison
With the huge varieties of smartphones, it would be an aid for any customers if they can figure out which mobile suits them and can understand the specifications of smartphones. From the pool of various mid-range phone now we have few frequently known name as Oppo and MI’s Redmi. Recently we had Redmi Note 5 AI from MI and Oppo F7 Youth from Oppo. Both of them claim to perform best so let’s compare the specs and find out which one suits ourselves.
Design and the Display:
Oppo F7 is slimmer and weighs less than Redmi Note 5 AI as Redmi Note 5 comes with 158.6 x 75.4 x 8.1 mm dimension body and Oppo has 156.5 x 75.2 x 7.8 mm body dimension and oppo only weighs 155gms whereas Redmi Note 5 AI weighs 181gms. The body of oppo F7 is metal frame and plastic on the back whereas Redmi Note 5 AI comes with an aluminium body on the back.
Redmi Note 5 comes with 5.99 inches IPS LCD display whereas Oppo F7 youth has 6 inches LTPS(Low-Temperature Poly-Silicon) IPS LCD display with 403 ppi(1080 x 2160 pixels) and 402 ppi density(1080 x 2160 pixels) respectively. The difference between LTPS IPS LCD and IPS LCD is that the LTPS IPS LCD uses active matrix display which enhances the resolution and controls the temperature. Redmi Note 5 also packs Gorilla Glass panel to protect its display to some extent but F7 Youth lacks it.
Software and Performance:
Since Redmi Note 5 was launched before F7 Youth; Oppo F7 Youth comes with 8.1 Oreo which is one step ahead than Redmi Note 5 i.e. Oreo 8. Likewise, Redmi Note 5’s UI is handled MIUI 9 whereas Oppo F7 youth’s UI is handled by Colors 5.0.
Both of these devices are using good SOC which is Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 for Redmi Note 5 AI and MediaTek Helio P60 for Oppo F7 Youth. The difference is that Snapdragon 636 is based under 14nm fabrication whereas Helio P60 is based under 12nm fabrication. So, seeing the fabrication Mediatek has come up with good power consumption and efficient chipset. Redmi Note 5 has Octa-core kyro processor(4core of Cortex- A73 processor and 4 cores of the Cortex-A75 processor) inside clocked at 1.8 GHz.
Oppo F7 Youth also has octa-core (4 cores of Cortex- A73 processor and 4 cores of the Cortex-A75 processor ) but clocked at 2.0GHZ. The GPUs for both devices are fantastic as Redmi packs Adreno 509 GPU whereas Oppo packs Mali G72 GPU.
Memory wise both Oppo F7 Youth and Redmi Note 5 AI comes with 4GB Ram and 64GB storage but Note 5 also has 3GB Ram variant with 32/64GB storage as well. Also, Oppo F7 Youth comes with dedicated microSD card slot to expand its storage whereas Redmi Note 5 AI comes with hybrid SIM card slot.
Both devices claim they take excellent photos but seeing the camera specs we can analyze which one suits us. Starting with Redmi Note 5 we have a dual camera at rear position one with 12MP with f/1.9, and another of 5Mp with f/2.0. This aids in capturing good images even in low light. But Oppo F7 consists of 13MP with f/2.2 aperture camera at the rear position. With f/2.2 aperture, F7 Youth might not produce a good image in low lighting.
Similarly, Note 5 has 13MP with f/2.0 selfie camera consisting of LED flash. But Oppo F7 Youth has an 8MP with f/2.2 selfie camera. Both features AI beautify mode on the front camera.
Security and Battery:
Oppo F7 Youth does not come with fingerprint sensor but it does have face unlock feature for security, whereas Redmi Note 5 comes with both fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature.
Now, talking about battery performance Redmi Note 5 comes with non-removable Li-Po 4000mah battery. Oppo F7 Youth, on the other hand, comes with Li-ion non-removable 3410 mah battery. Thus, we can say Redmi Note 5 AI gives longer performance than oppo F7 Youth. Also, Redmi Note 5 supports fast charging whereas Oppo F7 Youth lacks it.
Redmi Note 5 AI starts with NRP 25,999 / NRP 29,999 for 3GB and 4GB variants respectively whereas Oppo F7 Youth is priced at Rs.31,590 for 4+64GB variant.
