After the giant Galaxy Note 7 catastrophe, Samsung has planned to ditch its Galaxy Note series and focus on only one flagship device in a year. Keeping this in mind, Samsung is working on the release of its next flagship — Samsung Galaxy S8 in February 2017. Customers have expected a lot from Samsung on the Galaxy S8 after the Note 7 blunder.
A lot of leaks and peaks have emerged about the Galaxy S8. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is alleged to have an Artificial Intelligence-based smart voice assistant. Named Bixby and Kestra, Galaxy S8 will pack a male and female smart assistant. The assistant will work through voice recognition and voice commands enabling you to use your mobile hands-free.
Another leak is about the information on Samsung Galaxy S8’s RAM. As reported by Techtastic, Galaxy S8 is will sport 6GB of RAM The 6GB of RAM is an upgrade to the 4GB RAM version on the previous Samsung GalaxyS7. Galaxy S8 is also rumored to sport a 256GB onboard storage. However, it is unsure whether the Galaxy S8 will have a MicroSD slot on its device.
Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a pressure-sensitive display similar to Apple’s 3D touch. The pressure-sensitive display allows the users to access more functions by applying varied pressure to the screen to select more features. Galaxy S8 will also tip an optical fingerprint sensor. In addition. the Galaxy S8 will come in two different sizes 5.7 inches and 6.2 inches and rumored to have a bezel-less display. It will also feature a 4K Super AMOLED display with 806ppi pixel density.
Samsung Galaxy S8 will also feature an Autofocus front-facing camera. The previous flagships from Samsung feature a fixed focus so this is a great upgrade on the Galaxy S8. However, there is no news about the resolution so it might be coming out in future leaks.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be launched on February 26 in Barcelona. However, there is no news about the pricing of the device. Hopefully, we might not be seeing Samsung producing firecrackers next year. Let us see what strategy Samsung will employ to recover from the recent fiasco involving Note 7.
