Today in New York, Samsung announced their two new premium tablets, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Both devices come with Super AMOLED Display with a WQHD resolution (2560 x 1600 pixels). This makes Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 to have 288 ppi whereas Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 to have 359 ppi displays. We have already seen an example of new and improved Super AMOLED display on Samsung Galaxy S5 which has bright and more accurate colors. So we can expect same kind of performance in new tablets’ display. And thanks to AMOLED panel, Samsung was able to achieve 6.6mm thickness on both new tablets.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Tab S 8.4 come in two variants, LTE and Wi-Fi only. LTE version will comes with Snapdragon 800 chipset with a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU whereas the Wi-Fi only version will comes with Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa chipset with a quad 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 and quad 1.9GHz Cortex-A15. However both device comes with 3 GB RAM, 8 MP rear camera, 2.1 MP front facing camera, 16 or 32 GB internal storage option with microSD card slot, IR blaster on side and Finger print scanner on the home button. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 comes with 7,900mAh Li-Ion battery whereas Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features a 4,900mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Tab S 8.4 comes with latest version of android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s Magazine UX. As other Galaxy Tablets, both new tablets comes additional features like: Multi window screen and S voice. Samsung has opened Pre-order for both devices in US though product will be delivered only from July. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.4 price starts from $499 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 price starts from $399. Hopefully we can see these both tablets in Nepal as well. The tablets that are launched by Samsung in Nepal, does not have great specifications.
