Realme is exploding whereas Xiaomi remains on the top in Indian Market
According to the research firm held by IDC, it has released its result of the smartphone market, which shows the report of the first quarter of 2020. Though the global market shows the downturn, although the data has held some positive growth, too.
According to IDC (International Data Corporations), “With shipments of 32.5 million units leading to 1.5 percent year over year (YOY) growth, India was the only country among three to see the positive growth in the first quarter of 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Along with it comes its two other competitors China with the decline rate YOY of 20.3% and the USA with the decline rate YOY of 16% with the, in the first quarter of 2020, according to the updated status by IDC.
Xiaomi led the market with a 31.2 % share, vivo captured the market with a 21% share, led by Samsung with a 15.6 % share, forwarded by OPPO which leads the market by 10.6% share and closing up the list comes Realme with 13.1 % share.
Now talking about the ranking, Xiaomi seizes the topmost position with an estimated 1Q 2020 shipment volume of 10.1 Million units taking the leap of growth by 3.4% YOY. It’s most popular model has been the Redmi Note 8 series.
The second most position has been taken up by vivo, registering the growth by 63.3 % YOY. The main reason behind gaining the position is due to the affordable Y series and S1 series of smartphones. Though Samsung suffered through the decline rate of 28.4% YOY in Q1 2020.
Now here comes the star of the show Realme who gained a massive 119.4% of YoY growth and took a giant leap with being the fourth largest brand in terms of the shipment volume in the quarter. The top model’s that are behind the success of Realme are 5i/5s, C2/C3. Another reason is due to multiple new launches, attractive discounts, cashback offers, and affordability schemes. Whereas OPPO completes the top 5 list with 41% YOY in Q1 2020.
