Vivo Nepal held a launch event for Vivo V7 yesterday in Hotel Yak and Yeti. If you are follower of our Facebook page then you have already got a glimpse of the launch event. With this launch event Vivo Nepal also announced they have officially entered in Nepali market.
In our previous post we have already mentioned the availability of two smartphones from Vivo, while in today’s launch event Vivo launched Vivo V7, a selfie centric smartphone for Nepali People.
Vivo V7 features a 24MP selfie camera with soft moonlight selfie flash. For a front camera that is a lot of megapixels. The selfie is also supported by vivo’s facebeauty 7.0. The camera is also said to support portrait mode as well. The phone comes with a 16-megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash. On the Display department vivo V7 also continues the trend of taller screens and narrower borders, 5.7 inch FullView IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels (HD+) and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 Octa-core 1.8GHz CPU with Adreno 506GPU. Vivo V7 comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable by up to 256GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot.

We were only able to spend some time with Vivo V7 during the launch event so we can’t tell you everything about it. But having said that, Vivo V7 looks and feels a lot like the recently launched Oppo F5, since both comes with a plastic body and shares very similar design. Regarding performance, Vivo V7 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 CPU, which is the latest entry level chipset from Qualcomm. But don’t get fooled by the word “entry level” because it shares very similar specs compared to Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. The only differences between both Chipsets are: CPU clocked speed and ISP (Image Signal Processor), which are better on SD 625 compared to SD450.
Moving on the FullView display, we are getting 18:9 ratio 5.7 inch IPS LCD screen. But the resolution is lower compared to its competitors, which is 720×1440 pixels. Now this display is not going to be as sharp as other smartphones in this price segment, but because of less pixels, Vivo V7 has two advantages over its competitors. One, it should have a better gaming experience and Two, it should give decent battery life despite only having 3000mAh battery capacity. Because less pixels on display means less load on the CPU and GPU, which ultimately helps increases the overall performance and battery life. Also Snapdragon 450 is based on 14nm architecture (Means power efficient CPU) and has same the GPU as Snapdragon 625.
But hardware does not always tell you the whole story, overall performance also depends on how well the software (Funtouch OS) is optimized for these hardware. And talking about the software, we’ll also have to see how well the camera software is optimized to get the most out of its 24MP selfie camera and 16MP rear camera.
