Will My Phone Get Android L Update?

I’m sure you know what this post is all about by seeing its title. Today we are going to talk about which android devices will get the upcoming Android version (android L) in the future. If you don’t know anything about Android L than read our article about Android L here. It’s good to have the latest version of Android in the devices not just for fun or to showoff but it makes your devices more secure, compatible with to latest apps and games and enhances the overall performance of your device. So without any further ado let’s get into the main point.

Samsung devices

Samsung will update Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as soon as possible they can. Samsung Galaxy S4 will be the next device to get the Android L update after its big brothers. The mid-range devices including Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 will be stuck at whatever version they have right now and the same goes for the low-end devices.

Talking about the tablets, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, Galaxy Tab Pro and Galaxy Tab S will be updated to the Android L version but the rest of the old Tablets will not.

HTC will update every device after HTC One M7 launched. So if your device was launched after HTC One M7 then you are lucky but if your device was launched before HTC One M7 than probably your device will not get Android L update. So that means HTC One M7, HTC One M8, HTC One E8, HTC One M8 mini and HTC desire 816 will surely get Android L update in future.

Recently Sony is doing a really good job when it comes to updating its device with the latest version of Android. They have updated their Icecream Sandwich devices to the Jelly bean version and their jelly bean devices to KitKat version. So we can predict those devices that come with KitKat version right out of the box will probably get Android L update. Having said that Sony Xperia Z1, Sony Xperia Z2, Sony Xperia Z2 compact, and upcoming Sony Xperia Z3 will surely get an Android L update in the future.


Motorola devices

After Google bought this company, Motorola has been updating there latest devices with the latest version of android which includes Motorola Moto X, Motorola Moto G and Motorola Moto E. Even after Google sold this company to Lenovo, Motorola has already announced that Motorola Moto X, Motorola Moto G, and Motorola Moto E will get Android L update in future once Google released the final version of Android L.

LG made us surprised with LG G2 last year. It was one of the best smartphones last year. And coming to this year LG didn’t disappoint either. They came up with LG G3 which is one of the best smartphones that you can buy with your money right now. Not only hardware, but we have also seen improvement in the software of the devices by LG as well. So if you own LG G2, LG G Flex, LG G Pro 2 or LG G3 than your device will be updated to the Android L version in the future. Although LG hasn’t said anything officially regarding updating their devices to the latest version of Android L.


Google devices

Google Nexus devices including Google play edition devices will get the Android L update first before any other mobile company devices. But not every Google nexus devices will get Android L update. For example, Google Nexus 4, Google Nexus 7 2013 and Google Nexus 10 will not get Android L update. So Google Nexus 5, Google Nexus 7 2013 and all other Google Play edition devices will get Android L first when it will be released.
