Xiaomi Announced Mi 6X With 20MP Selfie Camera & Snapdragon 660 CPU
After months of leaks and speculation, Xiaomi has finally taken wraps off the Mi 6X at an event held in China. The Mi 6X is the successor to the widely popular Mi 5X which is better known Internationally as Mi A1. The main highlight of the device is the vertical dual rear camera setup which the company claims outperforms every other device in the segment.
The main sensor in the rear camera is 12MP Sony IMX486 f/1.75 sensor with 1.25 μm pixel size while the second one is 20MP Sony IMX376 f/1.75 sensor, which uses pixel binning technology to combine four pixels into one and create a pixel of size 2.0 μm for excellent low light shots. The front selfie camera is the same 20MP f/1.75 sensor utilizing pixel binning technology. With such capable hardware, it seems likely that the device will outperformer its contender in the camera segment.
Of course, the Mi 6X is not only capable in camera segment, featuring a 5.99-inch FHD+ full view display with a modern and slim design inspired from iPhone X, the Mi 6X is sure to turn heads around you. The slim design has lead to a battery capacity of 3010mAh which is on the smaller side but will easily last a day of use. On the plus side though, Xiaomi claims you charge the device up to 50% in 30 minutes, thanks to quick charge 3.0, which will make sure you don’t have to worry about the battery dying out on you.
Under-the-hood, the Mi 6X features a Snapdragon 660 SOC with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The SD 660 SOC from Qualcomm is a solid performer making sure that the MI 6X will easily handle anything you throw at it. The device runs on MIUI 9.5 on top of Android 8.1.1 Oreo. According to the company, the device features AI backing its software, which will allow the device to understand more than 200 scenes to improve photography. Not only that the AI will also be responsible for improving the performance while enhancing the battery life of the phone.
The device is priced at RMB 1599 (~NPR 27,152), RMB 1799 (~NPR 30,549) and RMB 1999 (~NPR 33,945) for 4GB + 64GB, 6GB +64GB and 6GB + 128GB variants respectively and will be available from 27 April through both online and offline channels in China.
