Xiaomi Announces Redmi Go Their First Android Go Device

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi makes the Redmi Go Official. This is the Redmi’s first-ever smartphone featuring Google’s Android Go software. Android Go is essentially a stripped-down version of the Android designed to run on entry-level smartphones with a low specification. The device is equipped with absolute basic equipment. In order to achieve a low price, Redmi has cut a lot of corners here.

Redmi Go Overview

The Redmi Go features a regular look with 16:9 form factor, 5.0-inch IPS display. In terms of resolution it’s1280x720 pixels. Under the hood, what we get is Qualcomm’s old 1.4-GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset. It is a little disappointing to see only 1GB of RAM. It offers 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD card slot.

The Redmi Go receives an 8-megapixel an F2.0 aperture single-lens primary camera attached on the back beside LED flash. While The front shooter is a 5-megapixel unit that gets the job done. The Redmi Go runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box. The Redmi Go supports two nano-sim and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The power supply is through the MicroUSB port.

Availability & Price

Regarding availability, this device has been recently announced and is likely to be available in Europe from the very first launch. The price is likely to be around 80 Euro ~ 10,230 NPR.
