(Updated On April 2018) With the collaboration of Google and Xiaomi, they launched Mi A1 on August 8 in India. Instead, the device running on the MIUI skin like on other Xiaomi smartphones, Mi A1 runs on stock Android and is guaranteed to get an Android software update for 2 years and Security patch update for 3 years. Which means Mi A1 will get Android P update in the future for sure.
Mi A1 hardware and design is very similar to Mi 5X launched in China. It comes with 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display on a metal unibody design. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-core CPU, which is based on 14nm technology. It is a very power efficient mid-range processor that helps Mi A1 to run at least a day despite having 3080mAh battery. Since Mi A1 comes with pure vanilla Android OS and 4GB RAM on top, opening apps and multitasking is fast compared to Redmi Note 4.
Talking about the camera on Mi A1, it is the best so far on Xiaomi mid-range smartphone I have seen. 12MP Dual-camera setup helps to take some amazing portrait shots with bokeh effects. Will talk about more about camera quality in a separate article, but my initial impression is very positive. For selfies, we have a 5MP front camera, which is decent for uploading photos on social media platforms.
Mi A1 features:
5.5 inches IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels
Mi A1 64GB variant is now available for Rs.24,499.00 (Price Updated On April 2018)
