After weeks from the launch of their new game changing device, Xiaomi MI Mix, rumors have surfaced of a smaller variant – MI Mix mini code named ‘nano’. Images and some specifications of this new bezel-less phone has been spotted on Weibo.
The leaked images show blurry pictures of this supposed MI Mix Mini next to the bigger Mi Mix. Due to the unclear nature of the images, it is very hard to make out its physical layout. But it looks very similar to the MI Mix.
According to tipster, the phone will feature a 5.5’’ display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor just like the MI Mix . It will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It is also said to be $73 cheaper than its bigger version. Other information like the sensors used in the camera are unknown at the moment.
The MI Mix launched around a month ago had similar specs but with a bigger 6.4’’ display. It was also powered by the Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.0 storage. The pro version included 18K gold embedded around the fingerprint sensor and the camera. Since its release the MI Mix has been getting great reviews regarding its performance and design. However the concept phone proved to be a very challenging product to market globally for the company. So even though MI Mix intrigued a lot of tech enthusiasts around the world with its 91.7% screen-to-body ratio, it was only made available in China.
It seems the new phone will be just as powerful as the MI Mix but in a more compact form factor which might be appealing to many. Xiaomi has yet to confirm this new phone. But if it does get official let’s just hope that the new phone will not be exclusive to China like the MI Mix.
