Qualcomm has introduced its latest mid-range SoC, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, following the announcement of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 Features:
The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 retains the 4nm manufacturing process used in its predecessor but introduces enhancements across various aspects. Its CPU architecture resembles that of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, featuring a prime core, four performance cores, and three efficiency cores. Notably, the prime core clocks up to 2.8GHz, delivering a claimed 15% improvement in CPU performance, 45% in GPU performance, and 15% in power efficiency compared to its predecessor.
AI Capabilities:
One of the standout features of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is its integrated X63 5G modem and FastConnect 7800 mobile connectivity system, enabling peak download speeds of up to 4.2 Gbps and supporting WiFi-7 technology. Additionally, the chipset focuses on on-device generative AI capabilities, supporting a wide range of large language models (LLM) like Baichuan-7B and Llama 2. This enables enhanced virtual assistant experiences, multi-language translation, and transcription functionalities.
Multimedia Features:
In terms of multimedia capabilities, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 boasts an 18-bit triple cognitive ISP, allowing for the capture of photos up to 200MP and featuring technologies such as Snapdragon Low Light Vision. Audio enhancements include Spatial Audio with head tracking, Snapdragon Sound technology, and support for aptX Lossless and LE audio. The chipset also supports up to QHD+ display resolution at a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and offers compatibility with up to 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage systems.
