Poco F2 Pro Announced With 6.67″ Super AMOLED display, SD 865 SoC and 64MP Quad Camera
Today Poco held up a global online launch event, where they announced its 2020 flagship smartphone, POCO F2 Pro. Although it’s the rebranded Redmi K30 Pro, it packs some great tech to be appreciated.
Pocophone F1 shocked the smartphone industry with its sudden launch and excellent price to performance ratio due to this more than 1.64 million units were sold. Though the second generation of Poco flagship devices is not going to be launched at as competitive pricing as the previous one.
One of the main reasons for flagship killers being more expensive is due to Qualcomm showing its monopoly and selling its flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC at an all-time high price. Let’s see how flagship killer OEM deals with this. Keeping all that aside let’s see what Poco F2 Pro has to offer.
POCO F2 Pro Specs Overview:
With no doubt, Poco F2 pro comes with the latest and greatest from Qualcomm. It packs a Snapdragon 865 SoC with Adreno 650 handling the GPU part. It’s an octa-core CPU with 4 powerful A77 cores three clocked at 2.4Ghz and one clocked at 2.8Ghz while four power-efficient A55 cores are clocked at 1.8Ghz.
Along with a Powerful processor, the device has the fastest UFS3.1 storage with a write speed up to 777MB/ sec. Not only that, but you also get the latest LPDDR5 Ram with a maximum transmission bandwidth of 44GB/sec. However Poco F2 Pro with 6GB RAM is last gen LPDDR4X RAM.
All this inside a mobile device is definitely gonna produce some heat to handle that and to maintain sustainable performance for a long time we get Liquid Cooling 2.0 with three layers of graphite cooling. This helps devices to deliver a great performance.
In the Antutu benchmark, it beats OnePlus 8 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S20+ with Exynos. This device is going to be a delight for Gamer.
Display and Design:
The device in front comes with 6.67″ Full HD+ Super Amoled Display with Full-Screen experience without any notch or Punch Hole as it has a Pop-up mechanism for the front camera.
The display has a maximum brightness of 1200 nits with a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio and also supports HDR10+. It can also stream Full HD videos in Streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime Video.
Though the device only has a 60hz refresh rate with 180hz touch sampling rate, which is quite a bummer for a flagship in 2020.
At the back, it houses a quad-camera setup with Poco branding at the back. Both back and front are protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
Here, Poco offers a quad camera setup. The primary lens is the 64MP Sony IMX686 with 1/1.7 sensor size. It is accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide lens with 123° of field view, while the other two here are the 2MP Depth Sensor for portrait photos and videos and. The last one is a 5MP AF Macro camera. The device has a 20MP pop-up camera that supports HDR and Portrait photos.
All in all the camera supports features like 8K Video recording at 30 fps, Portrait Videos, Night Mode 2.0, 64MP photo mode, Slow motion selfie videos all regular features you get in MIUI camera app.
To run all this a modern flagship should pack a larger battery and POCO F2 Pro stands out here too. It is packed with 4700mah large battery which supports 30watt fast charging.
This large battery has a standby time up 18 days and gameplay time of 13.5 hrs. The company claims it can last up to 169 hrs while playing music and 15hrs of video playback.
Other features you should look at:
Z-axis linear motor for better haptics
3.5mm Headphone jack
5G connectivity at this low Price
WiFi 6 Certified
92.7% Screen-to-body Ratio
Pricing and Availability:
The device has two different variants in four different colors ( Neon Blue, Phantom White, Electric Purple, and Cyber Grey). The 6GB RAM+128GB ROM variant is launched at €499 (~NPR 65,200) and the higher 8GB+256GB variant comes at €599 (~NPR 78,300).
Though this seems expensive than the previous Poco F1, the device is quite inexpensive than the other flagship in the market. Talking about the availability the device is available to order globally from today at Gearbest and AliExpress.
Poco might also launch the regular variant of POCO F2 PRO, the POCO F2 really soon which might be even less expensive than this one. Poco might launch it at a much lower price in the Indian and Asian Markets.
