Redmi 9 Goes Official With Helio G80 SoC and 5020mAh Battery
Redmi, a sub-brand owned by Xiaomi, is unstoppable in 2020. With the release of a few phones last month all around the globe, Redmi is back with the new Redmi 9, a direct successor of Redmi 8 launched last year. Here we present to you the specs and features of Redmi 9.
Redmi 9 Specs Overview:
Having a first look at the device, we notice a 6.53 inches IPS LCD display with Full HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) resolutions and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen is advertised to possess 400 nits of brightness. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 whereas the device is protected by plastic frames and back.
Exploring the camera section, the device rocks a quad-camera rear setup consisting of a primary sensor of 13 MP, f/2.2, (wide) with PDAF, an ultrawide sensor of 8 MP, f/2.2, 118˚, (ultrawide), the macro sensor of 5 MP, f/2.4 and the depth sensor of 2 MP, f/2.4. Along with this, a dew-drop notch at the front of the device houses a selfie camera of 8 MP, f/2.0, (wide). Both these cameras will be capable of shooting videos of 1080p @ 30fps.
The Redmi 9 is powered by Mediatek Helio G80, Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) and bags Mali-G52 MC2 to handle the graphics. Speaking about the storage, the device comes in two varieties, one with 3GB of LPDDR4X RAM + 32GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage and the other with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM + 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The storage can be expanded through microSDXC cards.
The Redmi 9 is backed by a Non-removable Li-Po 5020 mAh battery including an 18W fast charger. The device runs on MIUI 11 on the top of Android 10. Additionally, the device features a rear fingerprint sensor, Dual SIM, VoLTE, 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, and single-band WiFi of 2.4 GHz.
Redmi 9 Price & Availability:
The Redmi 9 is available in three color options – Carbon Gray, Sunset Purple, and Ocean Green. Redmi has already launched the device in Spain and it is available in various online as well as offline stores whereas the company is yet to announce its availability in Nepal.
