AMD has announced the latest budget additions to the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen desktop processor series, the Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X, and AMD B550 Chipset for the AM4 Socket similarly for the 3rd Gen Ryzen desktop series.
Both the Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X are quad-core hyperthreaded chips sporting 4 cores, 8 threads, a TDP of 65 Watts, and a total cache (L2 + L3) of 18 MB. The chips differ from each other in their clock speed with 3100 having a base clock of 3.6 GHz with a boost clock of 3.9 GHz and 3300X having a base clock of 3.8 GHz with a boost clock of 4.3 GHz.
Taking a look at pricing, the 3100 is priced at USD $99 and the 3300X is priced at USD $120 with its higher performance. The chips will go on sale on 21st May 2020.
Speaking of, the AMD B550 chipset, it will be an upgrade over the existing B450 chipset. The B550 brings PCIe 4.0 support to the budget users and unlocks twice the bandwidth of B450 chipset. The B550 based boards are expected to go on sale on 16th June 2020.
