Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ launched in Nepal

(Price Updated On May 2018) The wait is finally over, Samsung Nepal has officially launched Galaxy S8 and S8+ in Nepal. Samsung announced these devices first on March 29. Though, the official launch in the US and many other countries has been set for 21 April. So, its good to see Samsung launched these devices in Nepal earlier than in any other country.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with (1440×2960 pixels) resolution. While the Galaxy S8+ sports a 6.2-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with (1440×2960 pixels) resolution.  Both devices have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for display and back panel. Galaxy S8 and S8+ both are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 SoC (2.35GHz Quad + 1.9GHz Quad). Both the devices pack 4GB of RAM and come with 64GB ROM which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB).

Regarding the camera, On paper Galaxy S8/S8+ and Galaxy S7/S7 edge seems similar, with a 12MP camera with aperture f/1.7 but technically it has a different camera sensor, which intends to provide better image processing and stabilization. While there are 8-megapixel front cameras with autofocus on board as well, also featuring an f/1.7 aperture. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are backed by 3000mAh and 3500mAh batteries respectively. Both devices support wireless charging as well as fast charging. Regarding security, the device features a fingerprint sensor at the back which is placed at a bit odd place and has an Iris scanner at the front. Samsung has also introduced its own personal assistant named Bixby on these devices.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has been priced at Nrs 88900 and will be available in Maple gold and Mid Night Gold color option. While Galaxy S8+ is priced at Nrs 98900 and will be available in Coral Blue, Maple Gold, and Mid Night Black color options. The pre-booking of the device starts from tomorrow and you can pre-book it from www.s8prebooking.com, Samsung has also kept pre-booking confirmation cost as Nrs 5,000.  Those who pre-book devices till stock remains will receive a Samsung Level Box slim for free. Samsung Nepal has done a collaboration with “Shikhar Insurance” to provide free device repair service for six-months to S8 and S8+ users but a nominal fee for it will be charged. Moreover, Samsung Nepal has also done a collaboration with Ncell to provide 8GB of free data (1GB every month for 8 months) for each and every S8 and S8+ users.

Price Updated in May 2018: Samsung Galaxy S8 is now available at Rs.69,900 whereas Samsung Galaxy S8+ is available for Rs.79,900 in Nepal.
