Vivo V30 5G Full Review: Flex It For Real

spot_imgspot_img

Vivo recently launched the V30 series, the successor of the V29. We liked the V29 and were expecting a similar experience. But this successor brings not just upgrades but a fresh experience of both camera and performance and design. The new thing it has introduced is the Aura light, whose brightness can be customized.

The phone here in Nepal enters at the NRP 60,999 for (12 + 256 GB ) Variant. During my use, I liked it pretty much for its obvious style and sleekness. I have covered my detailed experience and features in the following Vivo V30 5G Full Review.

Vivo V30 5G Full Review: The Detail Experience, Pros, and Cons

Design

The new Vivo V30 stands out as one of the most attractive smartphones in its category. I received the peacock green color variant, and I’m quite impressed with its metallic green shade, which adds a fresh and premium look to the device. Weighing only 186 grams, this phone is remarkably lightweight. This lightness makes it comfortable to use for extended periods, whether you’re scrolling through Instagram, playing games, or enjoying a long binge-watching session.

The curved edges further enhance the grip, although the back of the phone can feel a bit slippery. Thankfully, the metal frame provides good support, and I prefer using the silicon cover included in the box for a firmer grip and added protection.

Talking about the design more deeply, the V30 introduces a noticeable change at the back, primarily with the addition of a new ring light positioned below the camera setup. In the previous V29 series, there was a smaller circular ring light around the camera island. With the V30, this ring light is more significant and square-shaped, matching the size of the camera module housing two cameras.

While the more considerable square ring light offers benefits I’ll explain shortly, some users may not prefer this design change. I found the smaller circular ring light more appealing. However, the square ring light doesn’t disrupt the overall aesthetics significantly, so I think we can accept this design choice.

Moving to the sides, the Vivo V30 features a sleek metal border. The power and volume buttons blend seamlessly into the design and are tactile and easy to reach. At the bottom of the phone, you’ll find a SIM tray, a Type-C charging port, and a speaker grill.

Display

Let’s dive into the impressive front features of the Vivo V30. Sporting a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a punch hole for the selfie camera, this phone boasts a large, nearly bezel-less screen. I’m particularly fond of the Vivo V30’s design and weight, offering a beautiful color, lightweight feel, and sleek aesthetics.

The display on the Vivo V30 is equally impressive, delivering a fast and smooth viewing and scrolling experience. During my week-long usage as my primary device, everything felt incredibly soft. The 120Hz refresh rate contributes to a noticeably smoother and faster interface, perfect for seamlessly switching between apps, browsing social media, and typing messages on WhatsApp.

What truly stood out to me were the vibrant and crisp colors of the display. They struck a balance between eye-catching and realistic, whether I was watching videos, viewing photos, or simply browsing the web. The sharp pixel density and wide color gamut enhanced the overall visual experience.

The vivo provided sufficient display options to customize the screen color, and refresh rate for visual enhancement.

The responsive multi-touch capability further enhances the display’s usability. The screen accurately registered every input no matter how quickly I typed or swiped. Moreover, the impressive peak brightness of 2800 nits ensured a clear and visible screen even under bright sunlight. Combined with good viewing angles, the Vivo V30’s display excels in various lighting conditions.

Performance

The Vivo V30 relies on the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM (with an additional 12GB available through storage utilization) and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. This hardware configuration ensures smooth and lag-free operation for all tasks, whether big or small.

Gaming performance is also commendable, with minimal heating observed during gameplay. Benchmark tests reflect positively on the device, showing that it can sustain 84 percent of its peak performance under stress.

I tested the device’s benchmarks using Geek Bench 6 and 3D gamer’s test, and their score turned out to be very significant. The phone scores 1121 in single-core and 3095 in multi-core. Here is the comparison.

Similarly, I put the device through stress tests like wildlife extreme stress test. The performance graph seems stable above the bar.

Vivo V30 5G Full Review-performance

The 5000mAh battery in the Vivo V30 is a capable performer, easily lasting a full day with regular usage and even longer with careful management. The PC Mark battery test yielded an impressive runtime of 17 hours and 30 minutes, showcasing the device’s endurance.

Gaming

When I played a few games like COD and PUBG with their advanced setting, I experienced very smooth gameplay. The vivo v30 has incorporated a very cool ultra gaming mode which includes Esports mode, 4D Game vibration feature, more battery enhancement options, and sound effects. Talking about the heating issue, it got heated very normally.

UI and OS

The Vivo V30 comes with Funtouch OS based on Android 14 out of the box. This operating system offers a wealth of features and customization options while maintaining a clean interface with minimal pre-installed apps. In addition to the standard Google apps, Vivo includes its own V-Appstore, a browser, and an app called iManager that includes cleanup utilities and a security scanner. You’ll also find a few third-party apps like Netflix, Snapchat, PhonePe, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Most of these apps should be useful to many users, but the great thing is that you can uninstall any apps you don’t need. However, keep in mind that the V-Appstore cannot be removed and may occasionally display random notifications, though you can disable these notifications.

The Jovi Home panel, accessible via quick settings, provides app shortcuts, weather updates, cricket scores, and more. You can customize this panel to display the information you find most relevant in the order you prefer. Overall, the Funtouch OS on the Vivo V30 offers a flexible and user-friendly experience with a good balance of useful features and customization options.

Camera

While the Vivo V30 may not have the Zeiss optics found in its Pro sibling, its camera setup is quite capable. While doing Vivo V30 5G Full Review, what I found is it features an optically stabilized 50MP f1.88 primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide snapper. Positioned in the middle of what Vivo calls the Aura light, a flash illuminates dim environments and serves as a fill light with adjustable colors, allowing for creative light effects.

Regarding photography, the Vivo V30 performs well in various lighting conditions. Daylight shots are crisp and pleasing, with a subtle warm tone. Portrait shots showcase good edge detection and pleasing results.

In addition to standard shooting modes, the V30 offers intriguing options like Superman, Astro, and Dual View. There’s also a Micro Movie mode for shooting short video clips with effects, perfect for sharing on social platforms.

In low-light situations, the V30 performs admirably, though there’s room for improvement in handling light flares. The 50MP selfie camera also delivers nice results with accurate skin tones and textures.

Battery and Charging

Let’s now discuss the battery performance of the Vivo V30, which is equally impressive. The substantial 5000mAh battery easily lasts me through an entire day on a single charge with regular use. Even better, I can extend the battery life to a day and a half with lighter activities like streaming or casual gaming. Even during intense gaming or prolonged video streaming sessions, the Vivo V30 manages to hold up well throughout the day.

v30 charging

The real star, however, is the included 80W fast charger, which takes the already impressive battery life to the next level. With such a long-lasting battery and rapid charging capability, this phone has truly exceeded my expectations in terms of battery performance.

Verdict

Vivo’s new V30 is a dependable mid-range phone known for its distinct design that includes a special color-changing effect. The phone works smoothly without any noticeable problems as I already mentioned in the complete Vivo V30 5G Full Review above.

The V30 is well-built with protective features like a custom aluminum alloy frame, an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, a display shield, and a free cover case. These features make the phone durable and long-lasting, appealing to customers seeking a reliable smartphone option.
