Moto G50 5G Overview
Design & Display
Motorola G50 5G doesn’t stand out much with its design as it has a plastic back and a plastic frame with a drop notch display at the front. The device is 9.3mm thin and 206gm heavier despite a plastic-built and decent-sized battery. At the front, we get a 6.5-inch IPS LCD Display. It’s an HD+ panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and pixel density of 269 PPI.
Moto G50 5G comes with a triple camera setup at the back. Here we get a 48MP f/1.7 primary camera with PDAF and the rest two are 2MP each, depth sensor, and macro shooter. While at the front we have a 13MP f/2.0 sensor. Moto G50 5G is capable of recording 1080p videos from both rear and front cameras. You get camera features like HDR, Panorama, Portrait mode, and more.
The Dimensity 700 SoC is the heart of the system as it makes the Moto G50 a 5G device. It’s an octa-core SoC with 2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. For GPU duties we have Mali-G57 MC2. Along with this, you get 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is expandable upto 1TB via the micro-SD card slot. We have already seen this SoC in devices like POCO M3 Pro 5G and Samsung Galaxy A22 5G and they are good performers, who can handle daily tasks with ease and also games under low or medium graphics settings are playable.
The Moto G50 5G packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 15W charging. We get support for Dual Band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and also NFC. The device is running on Android 11 with minimal Motorola customizations and close to stock Android software experience. The device also comes with a water-repellent coating, though it doesn’t have any official IP rating.
