Design & Display

Both the devices are made out of plastic with a plastic frame. At the front, the Poco M2 has a 6.53” FHD+ IPS display with a drop notch at the front. Whereas M11 has a 6.4” inch HD+ punch hole TFT display. The display on Poco M2 is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 whereas the Gorilla Glass protection on Samsung M11 is not stated. The FHD+ display on M2 is definitely going to be better than the HD+ panel on the Samsung.

Performance & Software

Samsung M11 posses Snapdragon 450 under the hood with Adreno 506 GPU. It is an Octa-core CPU with 8×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53. This is a good chipset but not so powerful compare to what Poco M2 has. Inside the Poco M2, we get Mediatek Helio G80 (12 nm) it’s an Octa-core SoC with 2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 configuration with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

Here, Poco M2 is a clear winner. Helio G80 is a far more powerful SoC than the Snapdragon 450. And with our experience with both devices, we felt Poco M2 runs smoother compared to Galaxy M11. Talking about RAM we get 3GB on the Samsung M11 whereas 6GB LPDDR4X on the Poco M2. While for software both run on Android 10, Samsung has it’s own One UI 2.0 while Poco M2 has MIUI 11 skin on top.

Optics

For Optics, we have a Triple camera setup on the Samsung M11 with a 12MP f/1.8 primary shooter. Along with that we also get a 5MP f/2.2 ultra-wide and the last one is a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. At the front, we have an f/2.0 selfie shooter. Things might look different on the Poco side, but it’s almost similar, here we get a Quad camera setup with a 13MP f/2.2 Primary Camera along with an 8MP f/2.2 Ultra-wide camera. Here we also get a 5MP f/2.4 Macro lens and the last one is a 2MP depth sensor.

While at the front it has an 8MP f/2.0 front camera. The cameras are decent on both the devices and can do a decent job. The aperture of the primary sensor in the Galaxy M11 is larger, so it might perform a bit better in low light conditions.

Battery

Things are quite similar in the battery department. Here we have 5000mAh capacity on the Poco M2 with 18W fast charging, whereas Samsung M11 has a similar 5000mAh battery with 15W fast charging. Both the device support USB Type-C 2.0, which is a must in 2020. Both the devices will easily last you a day and Samsung might do better in the battery as it has less resolution display and less powerful chip to push.

Pricing

On the pricing front, Poco M2 crushes the Galaxy M11. You can get Poco M2 with 6GB RAM for just Rs. 18,999/- whereas Samsung Galaxy M11 is priced at Rs. 18,999/- for the 3GB+32GB variant. And as of now, these are the only variant of both the devices available in Nepal.
