Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ may be the default flagship chipset for the android world, And the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will be for the mid-range Android phones. The new chipset will have a Kryo CPU cluster clocked at up to 2.4Ghz alongside the Adreno 662 GPU. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 gen 1 claims to have 20% faster graphics than the previous Snapdragon 778G. While performing 30% better on the AI tasks on the new chipset.
Moreover, the Adreno Frame Motion Engine claims to double the frame rate in the games while maintaining the same power consumption as compared to the previous Snapdragon 778G chipset. While the new chipset is capable of handling up to 16Gb of LP-DDR5 RAM.
Whereas the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 also gets the snapdragon X62 5G modem capable of download speed up to 4,4 Gbps. With dual standby 5G connectivity, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, snapdragon sound, and aptX support.
The new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 brings Qualcomm Spectra to triple ISP to support up to 200MP photo capture. While it can capture 4K HDR video recording, 10-bit HEIC photo capture, and HEVC video recording support.
Furthermore, the chipset is featuring the first Android SE, and the Trusted Management Engine promises optimal security for digital keys and wallets.
