Design & Display

Looking at the design of both of these devices, to be honest, I was not impressed by any of them. We get a dewdrop notch at the front on both of the devices with thick bezels all around with a plastic back. Samsung has the slightly upper hand as it has IP67 dust and water resistance rating along with Gorilla Glass 5 at the front.

Moving to the front, Samsung houses a 6.4-inch of FHD+ display with a 90Hz of refresh rate. This is a Super AMOLED display with 411 PPI. On the other hand, Vivo V23e comes with a similar-sized 6.44 inch AMOLED display but no protection is specified.

Performance & Software

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is powered by its own Exynos 1280 SoC. This is a 5nm 5G SoC. Here we get an octa-core CPU with 2×2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 CPU cores and the GPU duties are handled by Mali-G68 GPU. We get 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. Samsung Galaxy A33 5G runs on Android 12 with One Ui 4.1 on top.

Talking about the Vivo, here we get Mediatek Helio G96 SoC built under a 12nm fabrication process. This is an octa-core SoC with 2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 CPU cores. While the memory options here are 128GB and 256GB with 8GB RAM. The device runs on Android 11 with Vivo’s own Funtouch 12 on top.

Camera

We get to see vast differences when it comes to the optics of both devices. Samsung Galaxy A33 5G features a quad-camera setup at the back with a 48MP primary camera and an 8MP Ultrawide with a 123˚ field of view. While the last two are 5MP macro sensor and 2MP depth shooter. While at the front we have a 13MP selfie shooter. The device can record 4K videos at 30fps from the rear camera. While the front one maxes out at 1080P at 30fps.

Vivo V23e features a triple rear camera setup, with a 64MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide (120˚), and a 2MP macro shooter. The USP of the device is its 50MP selfie shooter. The device can record 4K videos from both front and rear camera setups.

Battery & Charging

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G supports a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging. Though the charger is not provided in the box. Whereas Vivo V23e comes with a smaller 4050mAh battery. It also supports 44W fast charging and the charger is provided in the box.

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is priced at NPR.46,999 for the 8GB/1278GB variant and as of now, it is the only variant of the device to be launched in Nepal. While we get two variants of Vivo V23e, 8/128GB is priced at NPR.41,999 and the 8GB/256GB variant will cost you NPR.46,999.
