MacBook Pro 14” Overview

Design

MacBook Pro 14, like other models, flaunts a 100% aluminum chassis but with better airflow compared to the previous Pro MacBook. The MacBook Pro 14 weighs just 1.59kg which is pretty light for the performance one can get with it.

Apple has made some considerable changes in the new MacBook Pro 14 in terms of the display compared to the other MacBook Pros. The MacBook Pro, as per Apple, has about 20% thinner bezels on the sides and about 60% thinner along the top compared to its predecessors. However, Apple has made a notch on the top center to house its camera. Apple has upgraded its camera from 720p to 1080p which has more efficient pixels and we can expect the camera to deliver a better low-light performance.

As for the keyboards, Apple has removed the Touch Bars entirely from the keyboards; so, you’ll see a row of function keys at the top of the keyboard.

Moving on to the ports of the MacBook, the device features a new MagSafe 3 charging port, 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 HDMI port, an SDXC card slot, and a USB-C power adapter.

However, Apple will be providing the MacBook Pro 14 in only two colors- Silver and Space Grey. While many other models and lineups of MacBook- available in different beautiful colors, the availability in only two colors is quite disappointing.

Display

The rumors of the MacBook Pro 14 claimed that the device will come with a Liquid Retina XDR display along with a mini-LED technology, which came true. MacBook Pro flaunts a beautiful 14.2 inches Liquid Retina XDR display that has 1,000 nits of sustained brightness, 1,600 nits of peak brightness alongside a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.

Besides, with astounding P3 wide color gamut coverage and the support of 1 billion colors for smoother gradients, you can make a lot out of your display.

As the MacBook Pro 14 also supports video editing for professionals, the display is far better than for movie or series binge-watching.
