The company showcased its first AI system, Apple Intelligence, set to revolutionize the iPhone, iPad, and Mac experience. Alongside this, major updates are coming to Apple’s operating systems, enhancing Siri, introducing new features across native apps, and adding customization options to iOS 18. Now, let’s dive more into Apple WWDC 2024, and lets see what Apple has brought to its consumers.

Apple WWDC 2024

Apple’s First AI System:

Apple is launching an AI system called Apple Intelligence, which will be integrated into the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This new personal intelligence system uses powerful generative models to enhance Apple’s native apps, enabling capabilities like image generation and text summarization. Apple Intelligence focuses on security by deciding whether to use on-device processing or contact Apple’s private cloud computing server.

Siri Gets Smarter:

Siri, Apple’s voice assistant, is getting a major upgrade with deeper integration into the iPhone. It will appear as a pulsating light on the edge of your device and offer more control over your apps. Siri will now use large language models (LLMs) to better understand your requests and handle follow-up questions. Additionally, Siri will be integrated with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, allowing it to determine when to use ChatGPT for specific queries.

New AI Features Across Apple Apps:

Apple is introducing various AI features in its apps with iOS 18. This includes summarizing emails, generating responses, creating custom emojis with Genmoji, and using AI to search and clean up photos. The Photos app will get AI-powered background removal, while the Notes and Phone apps will have AI transcriptions and summaries.
