Oppo K9s- Overview

Design and Display

Design-wise, the Oppo K9 has a smooth finish at the back with a vertical rectangular bump at the rear. Oppo K9s has a glossy finish at the side of the camera bump and a normal finish below it. The device with its smooth finish seems to have a good feel to it. Nonetheless, it looks quite different than its predecessor, Oppo K9. The fingerprint sensor can be found on the right side. With its 8.52mm of thickness and 199 grams, the device sounds to be a bit bulkier and heavier than the other devices on the series.

Moving on to the front, the smartphone flaunts a 6.59 inches IPS LCD panel, making it the biggest panel among the 3 smartphones in the series. However, the K9s have an LCD panel while others have a Super AMOLED display, which is quite disappointing. Nonetheless, the K9s have a resolution of 1080 x 2400pixels, 100% of DCI-P3 color space coverage, a 120Hz of refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. So, you can expect your user experience to be vibrant and smooth. The display is protected by Panda Glass.

Under the hood, the K9s is powered by Qualcomm’s snapdragon 778G chipset which is a small upgrade to the chipset of K9. K9s boots on ColorOS 11.2 based on Android 11. The smartphones will be available in two different RAM variants- 6GB and 8GB, both paired with 128GB of storage. As for the GPU, it is handled by the Adreno 642L graphics card. Furthermore, Oppo K9s features a multi-dimensional composite liquid cooling setup that, as per Oppo’s claim, can cool the CPU by 15O Celsius. We have already seen this SoC in devices like Samsung Galaxy M52, and Galaxy A52s along with Mi 11 Lite 5G NE and a few iqoo devices.

At the front, Oppo has downgraded the camera to 16MP from 32MP on the Oppo K9. The selfie camera is housed inside a punch-hole cutout at the top left.
