Samsung Galaxy A03 Core vs Redmi A1 Comparison :

Built and Design

First talking about the build we can find that both devices come with a plastic back and a plastic frame whereas looking into the design Samsung Galaxy A03 core and Redmi A1 both features a textured finish which doesn’t make it feel cheap.

Furthermore, both device has almost the same dimension measuring 164.2 x 75.9 x 9.1 mm for the Samsung Galaxy A03 core whereas the Redmi A1 measures 164.9 x 76.8 x 9.1 mm but we can find Samsung Galaxy A03 core is slightly heavier at 211grams compared the Redmi A1 weighing at 192 grams.

Display  

Moving on to the display there is also a lot of similarities in the specification with both devices featuring almost the same screen size at 6.5 inches for the Samsung Galaxy A03 core and 6.52 inches for the Redmi A1. Furthermore, we can also find both devices featuring a resolution of only HD+ (720 x 1600 pixels) along with 270 PPI density on the Samsung Galaxy A03 core and a similar 269 PPI density on the Redmi A1.

But there’s one major difference in the screen used on these two devices which is a PLS LCD screen on Samsung Galaxy A03 Core and an IPS LCD screen on the Redmi A1 whereas talking about IPS displays generally has a better viewing angle and better image quality than the PLS LCD panel.

Performance

On to the performance, the two devices pack an enter-level chipset featuring Unisoc SC9863A (28nm) chipset on Samsung Galaxy A03 core and Mediatek Helio A22 (12 nm) on Redmi A1. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy A03 core comes with an Octa-core processor featuring a 1.6Ghz max clock speed while the Redmi A1 only gets a Quad-core CPU but with a max clock speed of 2.0Ghz.

In addition, looking at the benchmark of these two chipsets on AnTuTu 9 Unisoc scored 100558 whereas helio A22 score slightly lower at 87726. While on Geekbench 5 the Unisoc SC9863A chipset got 137/612 (single core/Multi-core) compared to 162/540 on Mediatek helio A22.

Software

On both devices, we can find the Andriod Go edition which is lighter and built for smartphones with 2GB of RAM or less. Furthermore, on the Redmi A1, we can find the latest version of Andriod 12 (Go edition) out of the box whereas the Samsung Galaxy A03 Core runs Andriod 11 (Go edition) out of the box.

In addition, talking about software support Samsung has promised Andriod 12 (Go edition) update on Samsung Galaxy A03 core whereas Xiaomi has promised Redmi A1 will get Andriod 13 (Go edition) update.

Camera

Furthermore on the optics both device packs the same main camera setup with 8MP f/2.0 but on the Redmi A1, we can find a wide lens on the main camera whereas the Redmi A1 also features a secondary camera in contrast to the 0.08MP QVGA camera while the Samsung Galaxy A03 core comes with only single camera at the back.

Moreover, both devices can record 1080P videos at 30FPS while we can find HDR support lacking on the Samsung Galaxy A03 core. Similar on the front both devices get the same front camera with a 5MP f/2.2 sensor.

Battery and other features

Under the hood of the Samsung Galaxy A03 Core and Redmi A1, we can find a huge 5000mAh battery powering the devices which are paired with a 7.75W charger for Samsung Galaxy A03 Core whereas the Redmi A1 packs a slightly higher watt charger at 10W while both devices feature a micro USB 2.0 charging port.

Furthermore talking about other features we can find Bluetooth 4.2 on the Samsung Galaxy A03 core and Bluetooth 5.0 on the Redmi A1 whereas we can also find the availability of a 3.5mm headphone jack and support for eMMC 5.1 storage on both devices.
