Mi TV 4X 43 vs Samsung UA43T5500 – Specs Comparison

In Nepal, the festive season is on its way. We tend to buy new electronics or any appliance before the festival because of all the offers and discounts. Among all the electronic appliances, TV is something that is used most frequently and used by everyone in a home. We don’t buy a new TV every year or two, like our smartphones, so you need to be feature-proof while choosing one. So today, we have a comparison of two different TVs from two of the big brands in Nepal. Let’s have a closer look into Mi TV 4X 43 and Samsung UA43T5500 with their specs comparison.

Design and Display

So both are 43-inch TV but apart from their screen size, there’s a lot of difference among these two Smart TVs. Mi TV 4X 43 definitely has better looks due to its thin bezel and sleek design. We have branding on the bottom at the middle of both the devices. Both the devices have sleek remotes with minimal design. You will notice a big difference while looking at the displays. Mi TV 4X 43 features a 4K HDR display which is much sharper and crisp in comparison with the Full HD HDR display on the Samsung UA43T5500. You can enjoy 4K content from Youtube and Netflix on the Mi TV, while on the Samsung you are caped at 1080P, despite the fact it costs Rs. 7,000 more.

Audio, Ports, and Connectivity

Talking about the Audio we have a Dual speaker setup on the Mi TV 4X 4K with two 10W speakers at 6 ohms with support for DTS and Dolby Audio. Also on the Samsung UA43T5500, we get 20W audio output via the dual-channel and also have support for Dolby Digital Plus. Talking about the ports, on the Mi TV 4X 43 we have 3-HDMI Ports, 2 USB 2.0 Ports, 1AV, Ethernet, 3.5 MM Audio, and 1 S/PDIF port. While on the Samsung we have  1 USB Port 1 AV, 2 HDMI (ARC support), 1 Optical Audio Output, 1 (Y/Pb/Pr), an RF port. For connectivity, both the device supports Bluetooth and Wifi.

Performance, Software, and additional Features

Mi TV 4X 43 is powered by an Amlogic Cortex A53 quad-core CPU and Mali-450 MP3 GPU along with 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. While on the Samsung to we get a quad-core CPU, though the specific model is unknown. For the Software, Mi TV has a big advantage here, as it runs on Android for TV, so it has access to 5000+ optimized TV apps from the google play store. Along with that, it has a native chrome cast built-in along with Google Assistant.

While Samsung runs on its own Tizen OS platform. It might not have access to as many apps as the Mi TV but has most of the popular apps support. It also has Google Assistant, Alexa, and Bixby assistant.

Other than these features, both the TVs have tons of other cool features, like on the Samsung you get Home cloud & Auto Hotspot connect web surfing, screen mirroring, using as a desktop for remote PC and more. Also on the Mi TV, you get to use your Bluetooth Joystick to play games like Asphalt, Retro Games and Air console, and more. So, both the TVs are feature-packed.

So after evaluating different aspects of both of these TVs, Mi TV 4X seems a better deal here with its 4K HDR panel, Android TV software, and minimal bezel design. Mi TV 4X 43 seems more future-proof than the Full HD TV from Samsung. Also, the Mi TV 4X is Rs.7000 cheaper at Rs.54,999, whereas the price of Samsung UA43T5500 is Rs.62,000,  these 7000 rupees can be further invested in a better Audio System resulting in a much more immersive experience with the 4K TV. We know Samsung TV also packs all sought of features, but while using a TV you may not use all of its software features but the display is something you are going to use all the time so the 4K Mi TV 4X 43, wins this one.
