In 2019, Samsung launched some really great entry and mid-range smartphones with good specs at reasonable pricing. But looking at the specs and the pricing of Samsung Galaxy A51, we cannot say the same thing. The big reason behind this is its own predecessor, Samsung Galaxy A50s.
Samsung Galaxy A50s features the same processor, RAM, ROM, and battery capacity. Camera specs are also somewhat similar, like; both have the same 48MP main rear camera and 32MP front-facing camera. The new Galaxy A51 has one extra Macro Lens on the back, ultrawide angle lens has also gone up from 8MP to 12MP. But Galaxy A50s has a slightly faster USF 2.1 internal memory compared to UFS 2.0 ROM on Galaxy A51. Also, the 32MP front camera on Galaxy A50s has f/2.0 aperture whereas Galaxy A51 has f/2.2 aperture. This technically means Galaxy A50s should take good selfies compared to Galaxy A51 in low light.
So basically Samsung wants you to pay extra for the punch-hole display design and 5MP macro-lens. Since Galaxy A50s is currently available in Nepal at Rs.33,599, we think Samsung Galaxy A50s offers better value for your money compared to Galaxy A51 if you are looking for a Samsung device in this price category.
